SBI PO is nothing but probationary Officers. If you want to apply for it then you must have to meet certain eligibility criteria.
Well I tell you about the criteria, selection process and other things we need to know about SBI PO jobs.
Every year state bank of India needs at least 1500 candidates for its existing and new branches. You can apply for the PO jobs and give online exam at various centers through the country.

Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO
You must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a government recognized university in the country. It must be a degree or any equivalent qualification.
If you are in your final year or final semester of graduation then you could also appear for the SBI PO exam this year. If you clear exam and get selected for the interview then you must produce original document there.
If you have an integrated dual degree or IDD certificate then the date of passing IDD should be on or before 10th August.
Criteria for Age Limit
- Your minimum age must be 21 years old and maximum age should be well under 30 years. If you are less than 21 and more than 30 years then you can’t apply.
- Candidates who belong to SC/ST Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe then there is a five year relaxation. It means maximum age could be up to 35 years.
- OBC or candidates from other backward classes have relaxation for 3 years.
- Persons with Disability: If you are SC/ST then relaxation is 15 years, for OBC it is 13 years and for general it is 10 years.
- Ex Servicemen also get relaxation for 5 years.
So these are eligibility criteria that you need to meet. If you cannot then you cannot apply for SBI PO job.
If you are eligible then next is about clearing the written examination.
Once you met the eligibility criteria you need to appear for exam. The Exam for SBI PO could be divided into two parts.
One is objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive for 50 marks.
Objective tests are conducted online. The test will be of 2 hours duration having 4 sections with 50 marks each.
- Test in English Language
- Test of General Knowledge and Computers
- Testing Data Analysis and Interpretation
- Test for Reasoning
If you clear the objective test then you go for descriptive test.
Descriptive test is for 1 hours and it will be test about English language like comprehension, essay writing, letter writing etc.
If you clear the test you have to appear for an interview.
So after meeting the eligibility criteria you have to clear both tests and appear for an interview. Bank will inform you when there is an interview. If you are selected then you need to join.

Job of a SBI PO
Career as a Probationary Officer of PO in SBI could be very exciting and challenging.
After you are selected you will be given training for at least 2 years. Once you have finished your probation period or training period you will be allowed for screening process.
In the screening process the candidate has to meet the predetermined standard level and if he or she succeeds then they are promoted to the next level grade officer and that is Middle Management Scale II
But if you fail in the screening process then you are posted as Junior Management Scale II

The SBI PO starting basic salary is Rs 16,900/- in scale of 14500-600/7-18700-700/2 for junior Management Scale I. The official should be eligible for other benefits and allowance.
