difference between public and private sector
Every graduate who is looking out for a job would try his best to get a job that pays him well. Normally, fresh graduates just coming out of college have only one criteria in their mind for choosing a job. And that criterion is how much is the salary. They are more bothered about the salary than anything else. Moreover, they think if salary is more then the job is good. I do agree with it but not every time. There could be a job which pays you well but you would not enjoy working there. Thus, salary does matter but not every time.

Salary in Public Jobs Compared With Private Jobs

Basically, in India if you want to a get a job then you have to decide between a Sarkari Naukri and a private job. You have to choose a job from these two. There is a class of people here that always want Government Jobs because they prefer government jobs for some reasons. On the other hand there are people who want to go for only private jobs. Both of these classes have their own logic for choosing a job. But here we will apply only one logic and that is salary comparison between a Sarkari Naukri and a private job. Let us do a tentative salary difference between public sector and private sector. We divide jobs in three types. First is a low profile job for both Sarkari and private. Second is medium profile and third are high profile jobs.
Salary of Low Profile Sarkari Naurki Salary of Low Profile Private Jobs
A low profile job would be like janitors, cooks, waiters, plumbers, drivers, mechanic etc. All these jobs would come under the category of a low profile job. In a Sarkari Naukri their salary is following.
  1. Janitors – Rs 4,000/- to Rs 5,000/- per month
  2. Cooks – Rs 6,000/- to Rs 8,000/- per month
  3. Waiters – Rs 3,000/- to Rs 5,000/- per month
  4. Plumbers – Rs 7,000/- t0 Rs 9,000/- per month
  5. Driver – Rs 8,000/- to 12,000/- per month
  6. Mechanic or Helper – Rs 5,000/- to Rs 7,000/- per month
  7. Security Guards – Rs 5,000/- to Rs 7,000/- per month
Now for same job how much they are paid for a private job.
  1. Janitors – Rs 4,500/- to Rs 6,000/- per month
  2. Cooks – Rs 10,000/- to Rs 15,000/- per month
  3. Waiters – Rs 6,000/- to Rs 8,000/- per month Plus Tips
  4. Plumbers – Rs 8,000/- t0 Rs 12,000/- per month
  5. Driver – Rs 10,000/- to 15,000/- per month
  6. Mechanic or Helper – Rs 6,000/- to Rs 9,000/- per month
  7. Security Guards – Rs 7,000/- to Rs 10,000/- per month
Thus by salary comparison of same jobs in sarkari and private it is very clear that in private, salary is more. But there is a difference, in private you have to work really hard but in sarkari work is less.
Salary of Medium Profile Sarkari Naukri Salary of Medium Profile Private Jobs
Now let us see a salary comparison of medium profile jobs. Here are the jobs and their salary.
  1. Office Clerks – Rs 7,000/- to Rs 10,000/- per month

  3. Technicians – Rs 12,000/- to 15,000/- per month

  5. Contractors – Rs 16,000/- to Rs 20,000/- per month

I think after a salary comparison again you will find private sector pays more than government jobs. All these jobs have good salary in private especially accountants, contractors and managers.

Comparing high profile jobs.
  1. Doctors – Rs 30,000/- to Rs 1,50,000/- per month

  6. Administrators (CEO’s) – Rs 400,000/- to Rs 1000,000/-
Again there is a lot of difference if we see the salary comparison. In private jobs you are paid much higher than a Sarkari Naukri.

Why Salary of a Private Job is More than a Sarkari Naukri?

You will notice that there is a lot of difference when it comes to medium profile jobs and high profile jobs. Especially high profile jobs. It is quite clear that private sector pays you more money than government. But why? Well! In private sector you are paid more because companies are earning more profit so they can pay you back. However, government sector do not make money. A private company runs in a profit so they are ready to pay you back.

Would You Choose a Job on the Basis of Salary Comparison?

After analyzing salary comparison between two sectors would you like to choose a job only on the basis of salary? Well! Think again. It could be possible that you are paid more but in return you have to do work that you do not like. Simply, it means money is not everything. So decide for a job which pays you well and at the same time you would love doing it.

Conclusion

In conclusion I would say after the salary comparison of sarkari naukri and private jobs you will find that
  • When it comes to low profile jobs, there is no difference. Both sarkari and private pays you almost same.
  • But when it comes to medium and high profile jobs, especially high profile jobs, you will find there is a clear difference that private pays much higher than government.
  • Finally, before choosing a job keep in mind, money is not everything; you must enjoy doing the work as well.
